If you’re a high calibre business owner with a proven successful business history and want to launch your venture in Australia, this is the correct visa type for you.
As a business owner, you will live in Australia and have a genuine and realistic commitment to continuously maintain an ownership interest and participate in the daily management of your business.

You may be eligible for these visas if you:

  • are nominated by a state or territory; and
  • you are invited to apply; and
  • you and your partner have not been involved in any unacceptable business or investment activities; and
  • you and your partner have a satisfactory record of complying with Commonwealth laws, and of each State or Territory in which you operate a business and employ employees in the business, relating to your business; and
  • you and all your family members meet health and character requirements – you do not need to prove this again if you have already done this for the provisional Business Innovation and Investment visa (subclass 188); and
  • you and/or your partner have a real commitment to maintaining business or investment activities in Australia.
